STEM is science, technology, engineering, and math. The January event involved engineering skills, and the children in first through fifth grade used cups, large and small marshmallows, toothpicks, and straws to building things. The February event was called “Sweet” Science. The children put candy hearts, M&Ms, and Skittles in different liquids to see how they reacted. One child commented, “This was a blast!”
