Robert Reitz is our guest speaker on February 23, at 1:30 pm. He will speak on “Memories with a View – Growing Up in Casa View”. Focusing on the history and points of interest in the Casa View neighborhood of Dallas in the 1950’s and 1960’s.
Bob Reitz and his family moved to the Casa View area in 1953. He attended Reinhardt Elementary, then W.H. Gaston Junior High, and graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1965. His experiences growing up in East Dallas, and his concept of what creates a neighborhood, have colored his whole life.
Bob is an art historian. This spring, at the The Center for the Advancement and Study of Early Texas Art, he presented his research on the West Texas sketching trips of Oak Cliff artist Frank Reaugh. He has recently curated four exhibits at the downtown Dallas Library, and he is the Curator of the Harbin Boy Scout Museum at Camp Wisdom in southwest Dallas.
If the expression, “Harry Stone, Fuzzy Rock and Bushy Boulder,” brings a smile to your face, join us February 23rd to enjoy the reminiscences of Bob Reitz.
