The local chapter of Room to Read facilitates Read-a-thons with Title 1 schools in DFW. Chapter members raise tmoney, and students do extra-curricular reading to “earn” the funds. Then they can designate which Room to Read project their funds will support. Dallas area students have read more than 320,000 pages raising over $32,000 to assist in the education of the kids in Asia and Africa in the last two years.
